Maricopa County First Time Home Buyer Mortgage Assistance

Maricopa County's "Home In 5" Loan Program. 

If you are a first time home buyer in Maricopa County you may be eligible for a 5% grant from the county to use toward the purchase of your first home.

Maricopa County's Home In 5 programs purpose is o help first time homebuyers purchase newly-constructed home or existing homes by providing below market mortgage rates with a 5% grant which can be used towards the homes down payment and the buyer's closing costs.

  Eligible buyers will be:

  1. First time homebuyers anywhere in Maricopa County.
  2. Other buyers, who have owned a home in during the past three years may purchase in the targeted area.
  3. Qualified Veterans are exempt from the first-time homebuyer requirements.
  4. Homes must be occupied as the buyer’s primary residence.
  5. Home in 5 program may only be used to purchase a home (not refinance).
  6. Adequate income, acceptable credit and down payment required.
  7. Household income may not exceed the specified limits.

A first time home buyer in Maricopa County that is eligible for the Home In 5 program may use it to buy a single family home, condo, townhouse, duplex (older than five years), planned unit developments, or a manufactured home.

The Home In 5 first time home buyer program has purchase price limits of $311,625 in the non-targeted area, and $380,875 in the targeted area.
