Are There Waterfront Homes For Sale In The Arizona Desert?
I have been trying to get my parents to move to Arizona for the last several years. In trying to get my parents to move to Arizona I have complied a list of great reasons for them to move here and live in the Phoenix Valley, however, my attempts are always thwarted by a comment like, "is here any water in Arizona?"
Granted my parents have been fortunate enough to live on water in some really beautiful places. I grew up in Monterey, CA. Monterey is a small beach community in northern California. My parents later moved to Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.
I know the name looks strange...and you might be asking yourself...who moves to Wisconsin, but I have to admit Oconomowoc is a beautiful place. In Oconomowoc they lived on Lac La Belle. Lac La Belle's water is so clean you can see the bottom of the lake at all times, it gets bath water warm in the summer, and in the morning the water is as still as glass! My parents last home was on the Rock River in Rockford Illinois, where my youngest brother became a competitive wake boarder.
I know this is a lot of history about my parents to give you...but it has its purpose. My parents, like a lot of people, love the water. They love looking at water, doing water sports, having a BBQ by the water, and of course swimming in water!
Arizona is a desert, and Arizona has a LOT of waterfront real estate! In Maricopa County you have every option to choose from! There is the new Tempe Town Lake and Scottsdale Waterfront projects that are new and exciting. Val Vista Lakes in Gilbert might be the best family community in the County. The Tempe Lake district has older homes and more mature neighborhoods. There are dozens of man made water skiing communities around Maricopa County, and retirement communities built around water. Las Brisas is one of my favorite communities in Scottsdale built around water, but it is just one of many beautiful waterfront communities in Scottsdale.

The Phoenix Valley is a very large and very diverse area. It is a desert, but this desert is blooming with water...and waterfront real estate!
