Canadians have always enjoyed owning a second home in Arizona...and why wouldn't they!
Canadians can leave there harsh winter and travel south to the Phoenix or Scottsdale area where they can enjoy our great winters in the desert! The weather is great, the people are nice, and the list of entertainment options are endless!

Right now buying real estate in Arizona has never been more attractive for Canadians! Why? There are a couple of reasons why buying a second home or a real estate investment in the Phoenix or Scottsdale area right now is a tremendous opportunity for Canadians!

The Canadian dollar is currently stronger than the US dollar.

The Phoenix and Scottsdale areas are experiencing the strongest buyer's market this part of Arizona has seen in over 30 years.
The strong Canadian dollar and the weak Arizona real estate market has created somewhat of a "double whammy" for Canadians looking to buy either a winter home in Arizona or real estate investment properties.
Just yesterday I was talking to a client from Toronto who is going to buy two condos, one in Phoenix and one in Scottsdale. For now he is going to use them as investment properties and rent them out. In the future however, he plans on staying in one of them during the Canadian winters.

It is great to hear from you! Arizona does have great weather! Something that I can do for you that will be very helpful is to set you up on a specific search where you will be emailed new listings that fit the criteria you are looking for daily. You will be able to make notes about the homes and delete them, or save them as a favorite/ possibility. Let me know if you would like me to do this for you!

Hi Anne, sounds great. Our broker says to keep an eye on this and near end of the year look to buy, or even sooner, but to start to watch these properties. I am interested mostly in Arizona. Florida is nice, but I love more what this area, and state have to offer, and nearby states.

Asked our broker about this and he said yes the boom is on, and will be even better as this year rolls along. We are going to take a road trip this year to Baja California (we have time shares), during this trip we are going to go check realty in Arizona (I have friends in Apache Junction), I already have a site where I am looking at properties, and I too think this is an awesome opportunity that would be insane to pass up if you have the money to invest. I live in Canada, but have many relatives in the US, I have always like the southwestern design and living style and conditions. I love the dessert and live in one in Canada, but it is only hot in the summer months, and I like warmth all year long. I was not born to live in Canada, I have to much southern blood running through my veins.
